What do I say to God before surgery?

Keep it short; you are tired and afraid, and that is allowed. Three things are enough. Name what frightens you. Ask for the surgeon's hands to be steady and your body to be strong. Then put yourself in God's hands out loud, and mean it: into Your hands I place myself. If you can, add a word of thanks for one person who is with you today. Then breathe. You have said everything that needs saying.

The tradition asks in these hours for yeshuah — deliverance: not a promise of the outcome, but the plea of a soul that knows it is not in control and asks not to be alone.
