How do I let go of resentment toward my parents?
Tell the truth about what happened first — resentment hardens precisely when the harm was never named. You are allowed to say it plainly to God. Then, if you can, ask to see them as people who were once as unfinished as you are now, which is not the same as excusing them. Ask for the boundary you need and the freedom to stop re-living a childhood you cannot revisit.
The word here is mechilah — a release: not declaring the wound acceptable, but setting down the hope of a past that will now never change.
