My child doesn't believe. Should I still pray for them?

Yes, and quietly. A prayer is not a lever; it needs no permission and should not become an argument you are having at them from a distance. Pray for their good, not their agreement. Ask that they be kept safe, that their life be full of a meaning they can recognize as their own, that they be well loved. The most persuasive thing they will ever meet is not your certainty; it is your steadiness.

The old guidance is chinuch al pi darko — to raise a child according to their own way: you plant, you tend, but the growing is theirs to do, freely, in their own time.
