How do I pray for a child who has lost their way?
Pray for their protection before their correction. You cannot force a soul, and asking God to make them obey is asking for a puppet, not a child. Ask that they be kept safe, that the door home stays open, that they meet someone good. Then ask for yourself: patience, and a mouth that does not slam shut.
The word for turning back is teshuvah — a return a person must make freely; no one, not even a parent, can make it for them.
